Two new Suzukis for Road to Brazil
Captain Horace Burrell, president of the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF), stressed the Stewarts Automotive Group's long-standing commitment to the national football programme last Tuesday afternoon at Stewart's Auto Sales Orchard Road, St Andrew, offices.
He made it clear that Richard and Diana Stewart, managing chairman and managing director of Stewart's respectively, are "real friends of football", the latest demonstration of that friendship being the donation of two Suzuki vehicles to the national programme.
The SX4 sedan and eight-seater APV make it eight vehicles - seven Suzukis and one BMW - that Stewarts has not only donated to the national football programme, but also committed to maintaining.
Burrell pointed out that the company has been supporting the national football programme since the Road to France campaign in 1998, the current World Cup target being Brazil in 2014. "Sponsorship is hard to come by and the Stewarts have stepped up," Burrell said.
Managing director of Stewart's Automotive Group, Diana Stewart said "when Captain Burrell invited us to come again and be involved, Stewart's Auto Sales immediately took the decision to be a team sponsor".
"We believe in community involvement, and football is the most powerful game to bring communities and young people together, and that is so important to Jamaica and to the world," she said.
