A great dining experience is made of quality food, quality ingredients, fitting ambience and cordial service.

Who doesn't enjoy a meal better when their palate is spoiled with the most delicious flavours, and impeccable customer service provided by the staff of that restaurant? A culinary experience is complete only when those factors converge, and Cafe Blue inside the Sovereign Centre is the place to visit during Restaurant Week (RW) to achieve this experience.

One of the go-to places on Jamaica's gastronomic scene, Cafe Blue has once again partnered with the Gleaner-sponsored Restaurant Week to make available some of the most delicious on-the-go treats. During a recent visit to the eatery, employee Natisha Grey shared that the restaurant's star meal is the jerked chicken panini. Made with jerked chicken, jerked mayo and cheddar/Swiss cheese, this quick and tasty snack is loved by many because as she puts it, "It's Jamaica and it's jerked chicken. People are just patriotic and customers say that it's the best." She continued, "The jerk isn't done on a grill like most other restaurants. At our head office, we use a regular jerk pan with charcoal and wood in order to get that authentic flavour and taste that makes people gravitate towards it; it's authentic Jamaican jerk."

Paired with the customers' choice of either a bread pudding or a sweet potato pudding to tie in with the Jamaica 50 theme, patrons can come out to RW expecting a mouth-watering and tantalising meal because it is a dish that is loved by all. Employee Taneisha Widcombe tells us, "It was added to the Restaurant Week menu because it is very popular and we want customers to come out during Restaurant Week and have the good taste that they are used to while dining out."
