From their chicken breast stuffed with callaloo and cheese served with shrimp, to their famous curried shrimp, the Pelican Grill in Montego Bay has managed to stay on the radar of food lovers who are loyal customers.
"Our most popular dish for many years has been curried shrimp. It is a simple but delicious entrée made with fresh, plump shrimp sautéed in our authentic West Indian curry sauce, accentuated by Jamaican herbs and spices," Elizabeth Dalley of the Pelican revealed.
Situated on Gloucester Avenue overlooking the Caribbean Sea, Pelican Grill is conveniently located along the Hip Strip and has been a family-owned-and-operated business for the past five decades.
When quizzed about the preparation that goes into making the dish among the favourite on their menu, Dalley explained, "All of our dishes are first sampled and tested by management until they have the right balance of flavours. We also ensure that the presentation of our entrée match the great taste before they are presented to our customers. After this process is completed, consistency is key, thus ensuring that the guests have a great dining experience every time, making them want to come back," she said.
