Garth Walker, chairman of Creative Media and Events, parent company of Wealth Magazine, is setting his sights on the automotive industry with the launch of a new magazine and television show next year. Walker's move into the automotive industry results from his desire to appeal to all its players.
"We looked at the automotive industry and we realised that more can be done. We'll be looking at lifestyle, careers, health and environment for the magazine. The TV show will also carry the magazine. We will be taken back in time with old cars, educating females and we will be test-driving and comparing vehicles," Walker said.
SET TO LAUNCH IN 2013
Wealth Magazine Auto Zoom and Wealth Magazine Auto Zoom TV will be launched in the first quarter of 2013 and are intended to engage all the players within the industry. "We want to bring something different," Walker said.
"We want to create an avenue for all players within the industry to advertise their products. We are laying a platform for all car dealers, whether new or used, and we want the people who supply lubricants, oils, parts and tyres to be involved," Walker explained.
Both the magazine and television show are expected to follow the high-quality, sophisticated format and production as the Wealth brand's current bimonthly publication, Wealth Magazine, and television series, Business Access and Home Sweet Home.
In November 2011 the Wealth brand put on the Wealth Auto Show at the National Arena, St Andrew, which at the time was Jamaica's first new car show in four years.
