Learning the basics at Mercedes-Benz Lady's Luncheon
Latoya Grindley, Staff Reporter
Women are always thought of as being incapable of dealing with car issues on their own, despite how minor they may be.
So to change this perception and help their female clients banish the myth, Silver Star Motors hosted their Mercedes-Benz Lady's Luncheon two Saturdays ago. The objective was to educate their female clients on dealing with car issues when they arise and to carry out simple checks and routines on their motor vehicles.
According to the group's public relations manager, Camille Fender, the luncheon, an educational exercise, was the company's way of reaching out to clients.
"Our customers are people who make investments with us and we just want to educate them and ultimately make them feel as part of the family."
After the women indulged in the refreshments available, Service Manager Andrew Cave took them under his wings to teach them the basics.
It was like a day at school. While the 'students' were asked to jot down what they would like to learn on paper provided, they were also taught the basics - how to change a tyre and how to check engine coolant and engine oil. They also learnt about the different fluids used in the vehicles and how to jump-start a car.
An engaging class, the women were able to learn and engage each other in a casual atmosphere, with peals of laughter thrown into the mix.
Here are some highlights!
