Five of Jamaica's athletes have tested positive for banned substances. Do you think 'Brand Jamaica' will suffer from this?
I don't think so. It just shows that more should be done to keep up to date with what is acceptable and unacceptable.
@ShimaNinja
How do these banned substances affect performance? The answer to this question affects Brand Jamaica. Let's not split hairs.
@astortate
I believe the Brand Jamaica image received a blow since Veronica Campbell-Brown's case. These recent test results only add to the suffering.
@clarendonja
Brand Jamaica's image is pivoted on Bolt's shoulders.
@iamdwaynewhite
It is going to suffer for a long time because our success has always been questioned and we let our guard down to unscrupulous people.
@RayJAlliance
I think it might, but we as a country need to stand behind our athletes just like we did during the Olympics and other games.
@skyzzTee
There will be some suspicion towards our athletes, but the brand is more than athletics. That's something we all can sell.
@sun_conure
Absolutely! Trainers need to be more vigilant regarding the products they give their athletes.
@PrivateTutorJa
As with all powerhouses, how adversity is handled is a reflection of its strength.
@DanikeeKnight
Definitely. Many people believe our athletes are not clean, and have only been awaiting proof.
@mccallami
Yes, it will. However, I do not think any of this is intentional on the athletes' part.

Yesterday's lead story reported that Jamaican athlete Asafa Powell's parents have maintained that their son is "no fool" and are standing behind him after he tested positive for a banned substance. This is what The Gleaner's Facebook followers had to say:
That's right! Stand up for your son! I know it is a set-up! Set-up! Set-up! You all don't worry, just pray. God will highlight the wicked. Just pray that everything will work out.

Their body language says it all. They have nothing to hide.

This too shall pass. Keep your head up, Asafa! One love.
- Murray Patsy
Stand by your child. I would too!
- Nadine Bennett
Hush, mama, Asafa is more likely to stop in a race than to take anything banned. Keep the faith.
- Samantha Toya
I agree with Samantha! I still love you, Asafa!
