It saddens my style heart to say that red-carpet season has come to an end. It ended with a nuance of style with the Oscars red carpet that simply left us breathless with the stunning gowns. The Oscars red carpet was much more exciting this year, with more of our favourite celebrities turning up the style heat on the carpet for the Oscars.

The styles and trends were spot on with what we saw on the red carpet this season for Fall/Winter 2014, along with Spring/Summer 2014 collections. With all the praise and stunning styles on the carpet came the disarray of horribly put-together styles from our favourite celebrities that simply needs to be taken away by the 'Glambulance'. Overall, this was a very exciting and stunning red-carpet season and we are all looking forward to it next year.

  • BEST DRESSED: FIDGE'S STYLE STAMP OF APPROVAL

1. LUPITA NYONG'O: THE YEAR OF LUPITA

This red-carpet season was all about breakout movie-and-style star Lupita Nyong'o from 12 Years A Slave. She started off red-carpet season strong and ended even stronger. We got the opportunity to see her start off the season in a red cape Ralph Lauren dress and ended the season in this custom-made Prada gown. We are definitely not style worthy! She can do no wrong in this plunging neckline "Nairobi" blue gown that simply left us breathless. It was styled to perfection with a headband, and jewellery by Fred Leighton was the icing on the cake.

2. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt: The reigning king and queen of Hollywood.

Bow down to the King and Queen of Hollywood! They can never ever do wrong, especially on the red carpet. What an anticipation it was waiting for Brangelina to arrive at the red carpet! It was all worth the wait when Angelina turned up in an absolutely stunning Elie Saab Couture 2014 gown styled with 42-carat diamond earrings along with her arm candy, Brad Pitt, looking very dapper in a black tuxedo. Never disappointing!

3. KATE HUDSON: GOLDEN GIRL (gets Fidge's 5-star stamp of approval)

Kate Hudson goes for the style win and WINS! Not nominated, but a presenter at the Oscars, Kate looked absolutely stunning in this Atelier Versace gown. Hudson channelled old Hollywood glam in her cleavage-baring, low-cut beaded gown. And check out that cape! Between the shoulder pads and the woven waist detailing, we don't know who could possibly top the actress as Best Dressed. Kate paired her ensemble with a matching pearl white art Deco-inspired clutch.

4. CATE BLANCHETT: HOLLYWOOD GODDESS

Kate Blanchett can rarely do wrong on the red carpet. We saw her dazzle through the award season with dresses by Valentino to closing the season in this Giorgio Armani nude embellished gown. A big trend we saw on the carpet, but Cate was the sure winner in this on trend colour and style that stood out on the carpet.

5. Charlize Theron: BlACK REIGN

Charlize rocked yet again another Oscars red carpet in a Christian Dior haute couture black gown. The subtle and bold details on the dress added that extra pop of element. The illusion straps along with the sheer panel cut out details on the dress also added the right sex element that she always gives on the carpet. She accessorised her look with Harry Winston jewellery and Christian Louboutin heels.

  • WORST DRESSED: FIDGE IS
    CALLING THE GLAMBULANCE!

1.
Lady Gaga: asymmetrical
disappointment

Lady Gaga did not wow or stun
the red carpet at all in this Versace strapless, curve-hugging gown
accessorised with a chiffon scarf. We expected something a bit more
jaw-dropping from the singer who is in the business of pushing
boundaries and letting us live on the style edge. She should have kept
it a little bit simpler with the asymmetrical details on the gown,
keeping the lines easier on the
eye.

2. AnnE
Hathaway:
A full plate of boring with an extra side
of YAWN!

Anne Hathaway's Gucci gown is very
figure-flattering, but the bedazzling 'armour-like' front portion of her
dress hurts our eyes and is very confusing. She wears the same
silhouette 90 per cent of the time, and it's now becoming so boring! I
had to look away in an effort not to damage my eyes. Someone, please
call the 'Glambulance' on her style
team.

3. Kerry Washington:
A Pregnant Plum

Look, we all love Kerry,
but we wanted more! It's the Oscars for crying out loud! I am so glad
that designer Jason Wu made his Oscar debut, he deserves it, finally!
With that said, this dress didn't showcase Kerry's gorgeous pregnant
figure well. It also looked like it got a little wrinkled and wet from
the rain. She reminded me of a pregnant plum, with those dark lips to
match. Come Kerry! I know you are pregnant, but tell your style team
that they aren't pregnant with you. Put your style caps
on.

4.
Kristin Chenoweth: A golden
statue

Short and sweet! We love the always
upbeat Kristin, but between her golden hair and her head-to-toe golden
dress, she looked a little too similar to an Oscar golden statue.
Calling the GLAMBULANCE! It's gold
overload!!
