WESTERN BUREAU:

The showroom of Courts Jamaica Limited in Bogue, Montego Bay was transformed into an impromptu kitchen last Thursday night, when some of the top chefs from Western Jamaica came out to demonstrate simple and fast meal preparations using appliances from the world-renowned KitchenAid brand.

In a fast-paced world where consumers are looking for convenience, KitchenAid offers some of the most versatile cooking appliances available. "And whenever you purchase a KitchenAid appliance, there is a recipe book inside," noted executive chef for Half Moon, Steve Sowa, who also served as demonstrator at the event.

The iconic KitchenAid mixer, known for its versatility in tackling a variety of tasks in the kitchen, was one of the primary appliances used by the chefs in preparing a three-course meal which comprised of an appetiser of shrimp and chili enchiladas, a main course of venetian chicken, spaghetti served with creamy pesto sauce, and baked garnished doughnuts for dessert.

Quick and easy

The meal, which was described as delicious, was prepared in less than an hour, which further highlighted KitchenAid's mandate to deliver a better experience in cooking.

"The most important thing about KitchenAid and what we stand for is that we sell on experience. We just don't sell another refrigerator or cooktop or an oven," Jorge Figuerras, senior sales manager, KitchenAid Caribbean region, told Food.

"What we really sell is the practice of cooking with appliances that will give you a better cooking experience in your home or if you are cooking with your family or friends," he added.
