The Jamaica Amateur Athletics Association (J-THREE-As) is scheduled to name a 20-member squad for the World Youth Championships in Italy from July 8 to 13.
As a result of financial difficulties, the J-THREE-As will not name any male athletes to compete in the 110-metre hurdles, 400-metre hurdles and field events.
Only six male athletes will be named to the squad. Among the male athletes will be Javere Bell of Seafort High, Wayne Hyman of Petersfield, Kemar Bailey-Cole of Old Harbour, Ashani Mitchell of Wolmers and Munro’s Adam Cunnings.
Celia Walters of Vere Technical, who won the sprint double at last weekend trials, Niketa Tracey of Edwin Allen and Deandre Whitehorne are expected to headline the female team.
