JCA probes match fixing allegations
The Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) has launched a formal inquiry into allegations of match-fixing and other violations during last weekend’s final round of matches in the Jamaica Super League.
The JCA will be conducting investigations into two matches, St Catherine Saints against Melbourne Kangaroos and Hanover Dolphins against eventual champions Manchester Lions.
In a dramatic final round of matches, Manchester Lions defeated Hanover Dolphins by an innings and 20 runs at Jarrett Park in Montego Bay to win the competition.
Hanover Dolphins were bowled out for 16 and 32. Manchester Lions batted once, declaring at 68 for two replying to Hanover Dolphins’ first innings score of 16.
The game between Melbourne Kangaroos and St Catherine Saints ended in less than a day at Chedwin Park.
Melbourne won by five runs with West Indies wicketkeeper/batsman Carlton Baugh, batting at number 10 and national opener Donovan Pagon batting at number 9.
