West Indies to play Sri Lanka in 20/20 semis

West Indies opponents in the semi-finals of the 20/20 World Cup in England will be Sri Lanka.



This was decided today after Sri Lanka and South Africa recorded victories at Trent Bridge in the final games of the Super Eight phase.



Sri Lanka defeated New Zealand by 48 runs to finish first in Group ‘F’ and will meet the second place team from Group ‘E’.



South Africa condemned West Indies to second place in Group ‘E’ by defending champions India by 12 runs to finish top of the group.



The West Indies, Sri Lanka will take place on Friday at The Oval, while South Africa will face Pakistan in the first semi-final on Thursday at Trent Bridge.
