Grenada’s government could be turning to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for help as the country contends with the effects of the global economic downturn.

Finance Minister Nazim Burke says the government will be submitting a package to the IMF for financial assistance to help the country manage its current economy problems.

The Tillman Thomas government says any intervention from the IMF will be used to help the country’s growth.

He says assistance from the Fund should boost Grenada’s effort to strengthen its management of the economy.
