The US President, Barack Obama is now in Ghana.

Mr. Obama and his wife Michelle arrived in the Ghanian capital of Accra a short while ago.

This is the president’s first visit to a sub-Saharan African country since taking office in January.

He’s expected to meet with Ghanaian president John Atta Mills during his 24-hour visit to the country.

He will also address Ghanaian officials tomorrow in parliament.

The US leader is expected to use the visit to stress the importance of good governance and democracy across the African continent.
