Honduran Interim leader may step down

Interim Honduran leader, Roberto Micheletti, says he is willing to step down, but only if ousted President, Manuel Zelaya, does not return to the country.

Mr. Micheletti has said he is prepared to step a side in the interest of returning peace and order to Honduras.

His comments come amidst threats from supporters of President Zelaya to take to the streets if he is not returned to office.

Almost a month ago, president Zelaya was forcibly removed from office by military personnel and forced into exile in Chile.

He has since been barred from returning to Honduras.

Both Mr. Micheletti and President Zelaya have begun separate discussions with Costa Rican President Oscar Arias in an effort to find a solution.

President Arias has called both men to further talks on Saturday.
