Main Mumbai suspect pleads guilty

A Pakistani man who was arrested for last November\'s deadly attacks in the Indian city of Mumbai has pleaded guilty to his role in the attack.



In a surprise turn of event, Mohammad Ajmal Amir Qasab stood up before the court to say he was involved in the killings.



Both his lawyer and prosecutors say they were surprised at his confession as they were not aware that he planed to make the admission.



He had previously pleaded not guilty in May last year to all the charges against him.



Mr Qasab is facing 86 charges, including waging war on India, murder and possessing explosives.



He could face the death penalty if his confession is accepted and judges agree to impose the maximum penalty.
