Japan PM dissolves parliament

Japan Prime Minister Taro Aso dissolved the country’s lower parliament yesterday as the country is expected to go to the polls at the end of next month.

Its reported that the move was unexpected but may have been prompted by the lack of support for the Japan leader.

Prime Minister Aso has come under pressure from his party to resign after his approval rating went down amid the country’s worsening economy.

In addition, the main opposition party and three other members of the parliament have filed a no-confidence motion against him and his Cabinet.

If the motion is approved, Prime Minister Aso will follow the path of the two previous prime ministers who resigned after less than a year in office.

Prime Minister Aso was sworn into office in September last year.
