Setback for Obama’s health care reform bill

A delay in the United States Senate voting on the health care reform bill put forward by President Barack Obama, has pushed back his proposed implementation timetable.
President Obama had expected to have the Senate vote on the bill by next month, so he could sign it in October.
But Republicans and leading Democrats have objected the rush, saying the bill will be taken up after the summer.
President Obama said he does not mind the setback, as he understands that members of the Senate had to carefully go through the bill.
However, he said he still wants to see the bill passed by year end.
The US president has said his health care reform package is intended to reduce health costs, increase choice and widen coverage.
