Young Sunshine Girls depart for Cook Islands

Jamaica’s National Under-21 netball left yesterday for Cook Islands to compete at the World Youth Championships from August 11 to 20.



The 12-member squad is under the guidance of C. Lloyd Walker and will be captained by Christina Solmon. Romelda Aiken is the vice captain.



The remaining members of the squad are Crystal Gordon, Vanessa Walker, Lasania Mattis, Patricia McCalla, Sateva Taylor, Samantha White, Malysha Kelly, Sasha-Gay Lynch, Afrika Morris and Yanique Gordon.



The Young Sunshine Girls have been drawn in Pool ‘D’ alongside Malawi, Singapore, Papua New Guinea and the USA.



Jamaica finished fourth at the last championships, which were held in USA, Florida four years ago.
