St Lucian Prime Minister Stephenson King is again defending his government\'s decision to access $10.6 million from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The Prime Minister said the IMF funds will be used in part to help provide business opportunities for young people.
He said the prudent fiscal status of St Lucia, St Vincent and Dominica qualified them for the funding.
Mr King is also assuring St Lucians that borrowing the money does not mean that the IMF will set the island\'s fiscal policy, or interfere with public servant’s wages.
