The International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) said it will rule on the doping cases involving five Jamaican athletes before Saturday\'s opening of the world championships in Berlin, Germany.

The IAAF had been waiting for documents all week after the Jamaica Anti-Doping (JAD) disciplinary committee cleared the five athletes.

Kent Gammon, chairman of JAD disciplinary committee said his members cleared the athletes after they found out that the substance was not on the banned list of the World Anti-Doping Agency.

Gammon said the athletes returned Adverse Analytical Findings for the substance Methyl Hexanamine.

However the Jamaica Anti-Doping Commission has appealed the ruling of the disciplinary committee.

The IAAF could provisionally suspend the five if it rules that the doping infractions were serious enough.

The athletes have been identified as Yohan Blake, Sheri-Ann Brooks, Allodin Fothergill, Lansford Spence and Marvin Anderson.
