Jamaica and Estacio draw

Jamaica’s local-based senior men’s football team yesterday secured a 2-2 draw with Brazilian second division state side Estacio University in Rio De Janeiro.



The Reggae Boyz, who are in Brazil for a three-week training camp were playing their second game.



The Brazilians took the lead in the 25th minute through Bruno Franca. However, Jamaica equalised through Kemmar Daley in the 30th minute.



Jamaica went 2-1 ahead through James Thomas in the 82nd minute. With three minutes to go Estacio University levelled the score at 2-2, when Raphael Oliveira shot past Duwayne Kerr in goal.



The Reggae Boyz will face Brazilian first division team Avia tomorrow.



Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz defeated Tigers of Brazil 2-0 in their first game since arriving in the country last week.



The women’s team will play its next game on Thursday against CEP Petrobias.
