Honduran court rejects Zelaya return proposal

The Supreme Court in Honduras has rejected a Costa Rica-brokered deal that would have restored ousted President Manuel Zelaya to power.

The court has accused Zelaya of crimes against the nation, treason and abuse of power.

The ruling also affirmed the legitimacy of the government of interim leader Roberto Micheletti.

Media reports say the ruling is uncompromising and bluntly contradicts the view held by governments across the world.

The move comes on the eve of a planned visit by a delegation from the Organisation of American States, which backs the Costa Rican proposal.

Its unclear if the court ruling will affect the delegation\'s plans.
