Jamaica’s Olympic and World sprint champion Usain Bolt will be in action this afternoon in the Swiss capital to compete at the IAAF Weltklasse Zurich Golden meeting.

Bolt, who shattered his 100 and 200 metre world records at the World Championship in Berlin, Germany, will run in the 100 metres scheduled to start at 2:10 Jamaica time.

His main competition should come from fellow Jamaican Asafa Powell, the former 100 metre world record holder.

The race also includes Jamaica’s Michael Frater and the American pair of Darvis Patton and Michael Rodgers.

The women’s 100 metres, set to start at 1:45, features three Jamaicans. They are Olympic and World 100 metre gold medallist Shelly-Ann Fraser; Olympic and world 100 metre silver medallist Kerron Stewart and Aleen Bailey.

Stewart is one of four athletes on course for a share of the one million US dollar Golden League Jackpot. The jackpot goes to athletes who win their event at all six meets and today’s meet is the fifth in the series.

Other Jamaicans down to compete are World Championship gold medallist Brigitte Foster Hylton, World championship bronze medallist Delloreen Ennis London; Olympic and World 400-metre silver medallist Shericka Williams, Novlene Williams-Mills, Maurice Wignall and Dwight Thomas.
