Jiselle to receive T&T highest national honour

History-making boxer Jiselle Salandy, who died in a car crash on January, will receive Trinidad and Tobago’s highest national honour, the Order of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
Salandy, who held a world record eight boxing titles at the time of her death on January four, is among three sporting personalities being honoured at this evening’s Independence Day National Awards Ceremony at President’s House, St Ann’s.
Ann Browne-John, a former national and West Indies cricketer and ex-national cricketer and footballer Alvin Corneal, will receive the Hummingbird Silver medal for their service to sport.
