Crystal Palace has completed the signing of former Derby County defender Claude Davis, according to a report on www.news.bbc.co.uk.

The 30-year-old Jamaica international, who was a free agent after leaving Derby, has signed a two-year deal.

Davis made seven appearances for the Eagles during a loan spell in the final three months of last season.

A permanent deal has been completed; the player has reached an agreement to terminate the remaining two years of his contract at Pride Park.

Davis began his career in England at Preston, who brought him in for an undisclosed fee from Hazard. He made over 100 appearances in all competitions for the Lancashire outfit.

Neil Warnock then signed him for Sheffield United in 2006 for £250,000, but he only managed 21 league appearances before moving on to Derby a year later for £300,000.

Davis made 27 league appearances during his two year spell with the Rams.
