Flood killings in Turkey

The death toll has reached at least 31 after two days of torrential rains triggered flash floods in the northwestern part of the country.

Officials say cars have been swept into the sea and gushing water has flooded into homes and businesses.

Twenty-six people were killed in the Istanbul province and five in the neighboring Tekirdag province.

Emergency workers have rescued an estimated 13 hundred people from the flash floods.

Millions of dollars is now needed for disaster relief for the affected areas.
