Caribbean sport icons Brian Lara and Dwight Yorke will play as a celebrity pair at the first International Pairs Antigua and Barbuda Golf qualifying tournament starting Saturday, according to a report on www.cananews.net.

The tournament, which will be played at the Cedar Valley Golf Course, will see local golfers vying for an opportunity to represent Antigua and Barbuda at the International Pairs World Final being held from October 11 through 13 in Carnoustie, Scotland.

Lara and Yorke, both avid golfers and with handicaps of six, will be considered as a marking pair and therefore cannot win the grand prize of qualifying to represent Antigua and Barbuda.

\"The participation of Lara and Yorke is a great boost for Antigua and Barbuda golfers as it now puts the eyes of the Caribbean firmly on the weekend events,\" said Zorol Barthley, CEO of Golf Experience Caribbean.
