Belize PM in Miami for medical checks

Belize Prime Minister Dean Barrow has gone to Miami for what his office says is a medical examination.



A brief statement issued by Barrow’s office yesterday said the 58-year-old

Will return to the country on September 28.



Media reports in Belize speculate that Prime Minister Barrow, who had been walking with a pronounced limp, may be seeking treatment for back pains relating to a procedure done in 2004.



The prime minister was noticeably wincing during official activities marking the country’s 28th anniversary of political independence from Britain earlier this week.
