International rescue teams are heading to Indonesia in a last-minute effort to free trapped earthquake survivors.
The United Nations says more than 1000 people have already died following the 7.6 magnitude quake two days ago.
Indonesia\'s disaster management says as many as 3,000 people are still believed to be trapped under rubble in Padang and several other areas.
Geologists have been warning that Padang, a city of 900 thousand people could one day be completely destroyed by an earthquake because of its location.
