Reigning champions Tivoli Gardens carved out a 1-0 victory over Village United yesterday at Edward Seaga Stadium to move back to the top of the Digicel Premier League.

Tivoli Gardens, who entered the seventh round in second position, have now moved to 16 points, two ahead of St Georges, who had a one-point lead going into the round.

However, St Georges were not in action as their game against Boys’ Town at Collie Smith Drive was not played because of rain.

Rain also affected the game between third placed Harbour View and eighth placed Rivoli United at the Spanish Town Prison Oval.

The day belonged to Arnett Gardens who whipped August Town 4-1 at the Anthony Spaulding Complex. Kevin King hammered in three goals.

Waterhouse defeated Humble Lions 2-1 at the Drewsland Mini Stadium to record their second straight victory after losing their first five games.

Kevin Lamey and Irvino English secured the victory for the home team.

Over at Brancourt in Clarendon, Portmore United edged Sporting Central 1-0 to move to joint third in the standings on 12 points.
