Man arrested in St Kitts with guns and ammunition in his luggage
A 39-year-old man has been arrested in Basseterre, St Kitts after being found with guns and ammunition in his luggage at the Robert Llewellyn Bradshaw International Airport on Saturday, according to a report on www.cananews.net.
Police said Demitrius Martin from the village of Conaree arrived on a LIAT flight from Puerto Rico and was arrested after his luggage was searched at a Customs checkpoint.
\"A search of his luggage by the Customs officer on duty revealed a 9mm and a .380 pistol along with 12 rounds of assorted ammunition. The weapons and ammunition were seized and turned over to the police along with the passenger,\" a police statement said.
Martin, who has remained in police custody since his arrest, will be charged with Customs-related offences.
