Trinidad and Tobago\'s opposition United National Congress (UNC) has dropped disciplinary charges against three dissident members.

Parliamentarians Jack Warner, Ramesh Maharaj and Winston Peters had each been facing 25 charges.

The charges were dropped at a UNC disciplinary committee meeting yesterday.

The three had been ordered to appear before the committee because of a violent confrontation in March, involving supporters of two UNC factions.

All three MPs had been publicly criticizing the leadership of party leader Basdeo Panday.
