At least 20 people have been killed and many more injured in a car bombing in the Northwestern Pakistani town of Charsadda.

Police said the blast occurred at a busy traffic intersection in the town, which lies northeast of Peshawar.

More than 300 people have already been killed in a wave of attacks in Pakistan in recent months.

Police have not yet confirmed whether this morning’s blast was a suicide bombing.
