Rain causes no play between India and Australia

The seventh and final one-day international between hosts India and Australia was called off without a ball being bowled today because of a water-logged ground following heavy rain from a cyclone.

Cyclone Phyan had subsided over Mumbai but the umpires decided no play was possible after conducting 2 inspections of the D.Y. Patil Stadium.

Australia clinched the series 4-2 to repeat their 2007 winning performance in their last One-Day International series in India.

Australia all-rounder, Shane Watson was awarded the best player of the series for his performances with the bat and ball.
