West Indies fight back against Queensland
West Indies, trailing Queensland by 346 runs on first innings, reached 133 for 1 in their second innings at the close of the third day of their four-day first-class match at the Allan Border Field in Australia today.
The Caribbean side lost opener Travis Dowlin for 53.
The batsmen at the crease are Adrian Barath on 65 and Narsingh Deonarine on 9.
Earlier, Queensland, who resumed on 383 for 4 replying to West Indies’ 271, declared their first innings on 617 for 7.
West Indies 21-year-old rookie fast bowler, Kemar Roach finished with three for 135 from 32 overs and was the pick of the bowlers.
Ravi Rampaul, Dwayne Bravo, Sulieman Benn and Deonarine ended with a wicket each.
The game is West Indies’ only opportunity for valuable match practice ahead of the first Test which starts next Thursday at the Gabba.
