Banana deal expected soon

European Union officials say their longstanding dispute with Latin America over banana tariffs, could be resolved by the end of this week.



Agriculture Commissioner, Mariann Fischer Boel says the EU has managed to get Latin America and African, Caribbean and Pacific countries to support the proposal to end the dispute.



However she said the proposal now needs to be approved by the United States.
