EU to help developing nations adapt climate change

European Union leaders have agreed to pay 7.2 billion euros over the next three years to help developing nations adapt to climate change.
Swedish Prime Minister, Fredrik Reinfeldt, who announced the deal said all 27 EU member nations will make contributions.
Meanwhile, UK Prime Minister, Gordon Brown said the UK\'s promise, at 500 million pounds or 553 million euros a year is the highest.
EU leaders hope that the deal will boost the current UN climate talks in Copenhagen.
Speaking at the end of the two-day EU summit in Brussels, European Commission President, Jose Manuel Barroso said he is confident that the agreement can kick-start the final negotiations in Denmark.
