Vice President of the West Indies Cricket Board, WICB, Dave Cameron says senior regional players will benefit from more matches this year despite the reduced Four-Day Championship.
The Regional Four-Day Championship, which bowls off on Friday in Jamaica, has been cut from 14 rounds to seven rounds because of financial difficulties.
As a result of the reduced Four-Day Championship, the West Indies Players’ Association has blasted the WICB, citing that the seven rounds is insufficient in this modern era of cricket.
However, Cameron says the WICB has put things in place to ensure that senior players compete more this year, despite the shorter four-day competition.
