The new school term has been delayed in parts of Tanzania because thousands of people are living in school buildings after floods destroyed their homes.

Officials say 9,000 people are now housed in classrooms.

They say the Kilosa district has been worst hit by floods.

Kenyan’s Vice-President, Kalonzo Musyoka has appealed for international help to deal with the displacement caused by the floods.
