Egypt beat Benin 2-0 in African Cup

Defending champion Egypt beat Benin 2-0 yesterday for their third straight win in the group stage of the African Cup of Nations.



Egypt had already secured a place in the quarterfinals, and maintained a perfect record with goals from Ahmed Al Muhammadi and Emad Motaeb.



Egypt finished first with 9 points from three games, 3 more than Nigeria, which beat Mozambique 3-0 in the other Group C game.
