UNICEF Advisor, Jean Luc Legrand said the UN has already documented 15 cases where children have left hospitals and not with family members.

Meanwhile, the police in Port-au-Prince, Haiti are appealing for help to tackle criminals who escaped when the earthquake destroyed the country’s main jail.

About 5,000 prisoners broke out of the capital\'s main jail after the walls collapsed.

Hundreds of the prisoners on the loose are said to be members of Haiti’s most powerful criminal gangs.

There have also been more reports of women being raped.

Reports have also indicated that the rising security fears have slowed aid distribution in some areas.

However, despite problems in Cite Soleil, UN officials say the capital, Port-au-Prince is largely calm, with only sporadic violence.
