Former West Indies coach David Moore has been confirmed as head coach of Bermuda national cricket team.
Moore’s appointment had been widely expected after Trinidadian Gus Logie stepped down from the post last September.
Logie, a former West Indies Test player and coach, was disappointed with the Bermuda team’s performance when they failed to qualify for next year’s World Cup to be held in Asia.
He had guided Bermuda to their first World Cup appearance in 2007 when the tournament was staged in the Caribbean.
Moore, a 45-year-old Australian, hopes to join the Bermuda squad in time for their tour to Namibia in March when they will play their second Intercontinental Shield match as well as two One-Day Internationals.
