There have been clashes in Venezuela between police and students who are against the government’s move to reprimand a television channel that was critical of President Hugo Chavez.
The biggest confrontation was in the capital, Caracas, where police used tear gas to disperse crowds.
Reports say one person was killed.
Last week, the Venezuelan government asked cable television services to drop the channel, RCTV, for ignoring rules that require Venezuelan broadcasters to carry live speeches by President Chavez.
