Hart drafts U23s into Canada’s squad for Jamaica match
Canada’s coach Stephen Hart has drafted three National Under-23 players into his squad to face Jamaica in a football friendly on Sunday at the National Stadium.
Trinidad and Tobago-born Hart requested that forward Randy Edwini-Bonsu, midfielder Derek Gaudet and goalkeeper Michal Misiewicz stay on from the just-concluded Under 23 camp to train with the seniors ahead of the Jamaica game.
The camp in Fort Lauderdale runs until Friday when they leave for Jamaica.
Misiewicz will serve as the second goalkeeper because original call-up Kenny Stamatopoulos was recalled by his club.
Exciting 28-year-old Julian de Guzman, who has Jamaican parentage and played four years in La Liga with Deportiva La Coruna, is also in the squad.
The Jamaica Football Federation will use the game as the starting point of the Reggae Boyz 2014 FIFA World Cup campaign.
