Venezuela VP resigns

The Vice-President of Venezuela, Ramon Carrizalez, has resigned from the government.



Mr Carrizalez has cited personal reasons for his decision.



He also stepped down from his post as Defence Minister, while his wife, Yuviri Ortega, resigned as Environment Minister.



Mr Carrizalez says he didn’t resign because of disagreements with government decisions, and any reports to the contrary are false and malicious.



He\'s been a close ally of President Hugo Chavez and was appointed to the post in 2008.
