Regional first-class championships round-up

Leeward Islands, responding to Trinidad and Tobago’s first innings total of 176, were 30 for 1 at stumps on the opening day of their fourth round match in the West Indies Cricket Board regional first-class championship at Four Square Oval in Barbados.



Imran Khan top scored for T&T with 54, while Captain Daren Ganga hit 51.



Wilden Cornwall was the most successful bowler for Leeward Islands with 5 for 27. He was supported by Anthony Martin who took 3 for 44 and Omari Banks who claimed 2 for 46.



Over at 3W Oval, Combined Campuses and Colleges, replying to Guyana’s first innings score of 271, closed today’s first day on 24 for 3.



Meanwhile, second place Barbados, choosing to bat, were 183 for 4 at the tea interval in their day/night match against Windward Islands at Kensington Oval.



Reigning champions and leaders Jamaica have drawn a bye for this round.



Jamaica lead the table with maximum 36 points, 15 ahead of second place Barbados on 21, followed by Combined Campuses and Colleges and Windward Islands on 12 each, T&T 9, Leeward Islands 6 and Guyana 3.
