Jamaican Nicholas Walters has secured his highest ever world rating by the World Boxing Association (WBA).

The unbeaten Walters is now 12th in his featherweight class on the January 2010 ratings list.

Walters, who is based in Panama, predictably surged up the ratings after defeating the Dominican Republic’s Carlos Manuel Reyes on points to win the vacant FedeLatin featherweight title on December 18 in Haiti.

Kirt Sinnette of Trinidad and Tobago and Guyanese Leon Moore have also secured their highest ever world boxing ratings.

The Super-middleweight Sinnete has jumped to Number 13 on the WBA list, while Moore, who captured the Pan Asian Boxing Association super bantamweight belt last month is now Number 6 among the WBA super-bantamweights.
