Hinds now travelling to Australia
Jamaica’s batsman Wavell Hinds is now travelling to Australia to replace West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo who has been ruled out of the upcoming limited overs series against the host country.
Bravo has not recovered from the finger injury he suffered playing for Victoria in the Australia Big Bash tournament last month and will be returning home from the tour.
The 33-year-old Hinds, out of the international cricket for over three years, replaces Bravo after useful scores so far in the current West Indies Cricket Board Regional first class championship.
The left-handed Hinds, who last represented West Indies at the 2006 Champions Trophy in India, has scored 330 runs in four innings so far in the regional season including a century 151against Guyana.
West Indies and Australia will face off in the first of five One Day Internationals on Sunday in Melbourne and end the tour with two 20/Twenty internationals on February 21 and 23.
