Jamaica’s women team eliminated

Jamaica’s women team has been eliminated from the Uber Cup at the Pan Am regional badminton qualifiers in Lima, Peru after losing twice yesterday.
Jamaica, drawn in Group ‘Y’, lost their opening game 3-2 to Mexico and then went down 5-0 to Canada.
Only the top two teams will qualify for the semi-finals.
The men’s team contesting the Thomas Cup is still in contention after the opening Group ‘A’ games. Jamaica got their campaign off to a winning start with a 5-0 thrashing of Puerto Rico.
The USA and Guatemala also registered victories. Both teams scored 5-0 wins over Columbia.
Both competitions continue today.
