Guyana Rights group wants dress laws changed

The Society Against Sexual Orientation Discrimination in Guyana wants the country\'s High Court to declare that cross-dressing laws are unconstitutional and violate human rights.

This issue dates back a year ago after four homosexuals were arrested, convicted and fined for wearing female attire.

The gay and lesbian-rights group has described the law against cross-dressing as vague, uncertain, irrational and discriminatory on the ground of sex, rendering it a violation of Guyana\'s constitution.
